Number 4 is to approve proclamation proclaiming national pan american golf association and golf tournament week. Mrs. Gomez?
>> thank you. And I believe greg martinez is here and others if they would come up. And they've been anticipating this tournament for a good while, and so we have a proclamation, whereas the Austin pan american golf association will be hosting the national pan american golf tournament and convention in Austin, Texas from July 28th through August 1st, 2003, an event not held in Austin since 1991, and whereas the Austin pan american golf association and its 230 members will be hosting this event for the paga members from the 43 chapters from across the nation and guests will converge for this prestigious event bringing an estimated one million dollars into the area and whereas golfers from around the country are coming to Austin for a week of competition while celebrating the camaraderie of the hispanic community through the support of golf that teaches everyone the virtues of sports man ship and whereas this celebration encompasses local and national efforts to raise fowndz for our communities and children, including scholarships for local use that would exceed over $100,000 per year. In addition to scholarships, the national pan american golf association has contributed substantially to such organizations as the americans with diabetes association and the american cancer society. Now therefore be it proclaimed that we, the Travis County Commissioners court proclaim the week of July 28th through August 1st, 2003 as the national pan american golf association con generation and golf tournament week in Travis County. And I would move approval.

>> good morning, judge, Commissioners. My name is greg martinez. Also here is jesse pena, the president. I want to thank the court for this proclamation. We have been working on this national tournament convention for almost two years now. It's on a rotating basis with large cities across the united states from chicago to los angeles to phoenix, and then back to Austin and dallas and san antonio. Because of the multitude of chapters throughout the united states, the rotation basis seems to go every year. So it's been 11 years since we had the last national tournament here in Austin. We are indebted to the Commissioners court, the state of Texas and the city council for their support in holding this convention here in Austin, Travis County. We are very supportive of the different foundations across the united states, especially the junior golf program and the scholarship program that we're able to indulge with not only here in Austin, but throughout the united states. And i'll turn it over to jesse for a few more words.
>> Commissioners, members of the Commissioners court, again I want to thank you for the proclamation. I hope that this is a good economic boost to the Travis County economy. And again, as greg mentioned, this is a very prestigious event for us annually, and we hope that we get good success out of this and promote golf to our juniors, especially the younger golfers that are out there. But again, thank you very much for the proclamation.
