Number 24, consider and take appropriate action on request for assignment of the option to license for use of the Travis County exposition center from kj ice limited to capital hockey ventures limited. And we have with us today mr. Jeff bush.
>> buck.
>> we will have to elevate you, mr. Buck.
>> good morning. Judge and Commissioners, this is to execute the agreement between k and j ice and capital hockey ventures. With this agreement capital hockey ventures assumes the rights and responsibilities detailed in the leasing of the Travis County exposition center. The original agreement was signed in 1996. There was an extension. And in '04 this particular agreement that the assignment will go with goes to March of '04. And mr. Buck says that they have every intention of exercising another option. So you have it and you have the agreements before you.
>> anything for us, mr. Buck?
>> yes. First I would like to say thank you very much for having me here judge and Commissioners. I was president of the Austin ice bats new ownership group. We're thrilled to be part of this community. And the difference between what I hope last year and this year and the years going forward, we hope and expect our numbers to improve significantly so that becomes, not to use a cliche, but a win-win opportunity for everybody. We'd love to see all of you out at games, as many as possible. Clearly you're our guests and we just want to say thank you. We know we're playing in your house, and we hope to be good house guests for you.
>> I think i'd like to thank you for being here. It was a very impressive conference that was held a little bit ago. I was really excited about that. And it appears that we're moving in the right direction, and I think the relationship should move forward, as I stated then. So with that i'd like to move approval.
>> second.
>> thank you very much.
>> thank you.
>> mr. Buck, I wanted to let you know I am a paying season ticket holder of the Austin ice bats and have been since day one, and that is one of the most popular auction items that I use. And I get such wonderful compliments back. It's like they want the ice bats ticket. So you have an excellent product and I hope that you can build a base of season ticket holders and individual game holders out there because it's a great time.
>> thank you. Continue with those tickets.
>> I plan to. [ laughter ]
>> it's understood that I always inspect the facility on game nights. [ laughter ]
>> that was the first point of our contract.
>> sometime in the future assist in marketing efforts since it is a county facility and the better the attendance, the better we do for the residents of Travis County, so we need to partner more on that as we did the first couple years that the ice bats were here.
>> absolutely. She's already mentioned some things. And I can't speak for the previous, but we hope and intend to take you up on whatever help that you want to provide. If you're going to offer us, we want to make use of that.
>> thank you.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> welcome aboard.
>> looking forward to working with you.
