I see the representatives from the sheriff's office here.
>> number 11. 11. Reject all proposals received for outsourcing food services, rfs no. -- you wanted to respond from p.b.o.? Reject all proposes received for outsourcing food services, rfs no. S020141-rv. (.
>> I am looking for concurrence anyone by the department -- I respect their opinion, but I was looking for others to weigh in on the issue.
>> let me just give and you brief background. We went out on proposals, we received I believe three, we narrowed it down to two viables. Staff spent an incredible amount of time from p.b.o., The sheriff's office, my office and some of the other offices juvenile court, what am I missing. That's pretty much it. We went through an extensive process and did a lot of the analysis, cost benefit analysis. In the finals it appears there's -- there's a range of when it's cost effective to outsource and when it's not. Bill has a very good chart that shows at our current populations we are actually saving money by doing it in house. Now if the population goes over a certain amount, then it would benefit in a cost savings. So all of those analyses have been done, extensively, and p.b.o. I believe concurs with us.
>> bill derryberry from planning and budget. The sheriff proposed in their budget a reduction of four f.t.e.'s in this area and we -- we are -- we will be proposing that in -- in the preliminary budget. That is equivalent to any savings. It basically becomes a wash at that particular point in time.
>> is there any disagreement with this recommendation?
>> no. The p.b.o. --
>> I move that we ject all proposals under item -- reject all proposals under item no. 11. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vo. Thank you all very much.
