2. Approve proclamation recognizing national police week, may 11 through may 17, 2003 and national peace officers' memorial day on may 15, 2003. And let me see if I can work my way through this. You all forgive me --
>> [indiscernible]
>> I don't have anything to say, really. Let me use it up, see what happens. It reads whereas national peace officers memorial day is may 15th and ceremonies are being held throughout the nation and here in Travis County honoring law enforcement officials, officers, who have been killed while serving their communities; whereas national police week is may 11 through 17, 2003, Travis County employs numerous law enforcement professionals who work selflessly on behalf of its citizens regardless of peril or hazard to themselves; whereas these officers have safeguarded and continue to safeguard the lives and property of Travis County residents; whereas by enforcing our laws, these officers help provide freedom and protect us from violence and civil disorder and whereas these men and women by their patriotic service and dedication have earned the gratitude of Travis County, the state of Texas and this nation, now therefore be it resolved that we the Travis County Commissioners court do here by proclaim may 15 as national peace officers memorial day and further proclaim the week of may 11th through 17th 2003 as national police week in Travis County, please confer special recognition to all law enforcement and peace officers employed by and in Travis County. And I move approval.
