Item 22
22, consider informal request for services, rfs, number s 030121-lb for study of jail operations, authorize the purchasing agent to issue the rfs, select vendors and take appropriate action.
>> judge, Commissioners, sue guam, purchasing agent. We worked with the sheriff's office and planning and budge total get this document prepared. I believe they sent it to you at least last week, maybe a week before for comment. Everyone has made a comment. This is the final draft and we're ready to send it out. We've got the names of about -- between seven and ten contractors that are interested. Even though all this is an informal process, we've had people calling asking to get a copy of it. So we're ready to go unless you all have any changes you want to make to the document.
>> what do we expect to get back from -- [indiscernible]. What do we expect as far as if they can do did work? If somebody can tell me --
>> I’m sorry, Commissioner. When do we expect it get it back?
>> yes. And what do we expect to see after this hits the streets?
>> we are going to send it -- if you approve this today, we're going to issue these today or tomorrow. We're asking they return their responses back to us by the end of the month, may 30th. And in the document it lists out specifically the different phases and what those phases entail, the scope of work and deliverables in those phases. And we've asked them to price those out. So we'll get back a proposal that addresses everything -- hopefully everything we asked for this this document. Their qualifications, who their team would be, what their experience is, what other -- you know, basically what their experience and qualifications is for doing this kind of work. And how they would plan -- we asked for a plan of work, how they would go about implementing their study.
>> okay. Thank you.
>> any additional questions or comments?
>> does anyone -- would you suspect anyone out there that would respond to this thing would have any idea what kind of dollars have been appropriated or at least a figure from this court as to what kind of dollar figure that would need to stay under?
>> I know that the budgeted amount has been talked about publicly here in Commissioners court, which was the high amount. So if they've been watching, they might have that information, but I don't have any idea. I mean, you know, I don't know how much money you all want to spend on this. So we'll just have to wait and see how it comes in to see if it even meets our budget.
>> nothing says we have to spend every penny.
>> we also talked about some of this was of that amount and that was just a -- let's just say it out loud, that is a plug figure, and there is certainly a piece of this related to the law enforcement bureau that is not contemplated to be done at this time and therefore won can say we are -- one can say we are contemplating a plug figure for some future piece of this and that full dollar amount is not for this piece of it. We can choose how we would break that up as to what should cost what.
>> the other thing that is very detailed is what staff, what the county will do to hopefully reduce their cost. We're going to be doing a lot of legwork and gathering information and they need to do the analysis of that information. So hopefully the cost will be reduced by that factor.
