13, discuss approve or take any appropriate action regarding the following: irrelevant you answer of bid documents for phase 1, site work, at precinct 3 office buildings. And we discussed b will be postponed for one week.
>> [inaudible] executive manager for administrative operations. You have an item before you for a project that is located in precinct 3. The project is going to be two buildings. One building will serve the justice of the peace, constable and satellite [indiscernible] office. Another building will be the west rural community center and clinic, and it will also have offices for w.i.c. Last year you approved $650,000 to buy about 5.8 acres, and the property is located on ih-71 west between southwest park way and 290 on the east side of ih-71. It's the same property as the city of Austin fire station. And we have before you today -- request your approval for documents for phase 1, and this includes all of the site work. We were fortunate to get approval from the city of Austin to move forward with the site work and get approval for a five-year variance on that particular property. I'm going to turn it over to roger l. Corey, who is the director of facilities management.
>> good morning.
>> good morning.
>> > just like alicia mentioned, we would like to bring this project into phase 1 and 2. Phase 1 takes care of all the infrastructure, roadway and detention ponds, water structure quality pond, and also the wastewater line. And some landscape and site lighting. And the reason we [indiscernible] phase 1 and 2 is because we can move on with the construction of the roadway and infrastructure and it's a good time for now to put the project on the street. I think we are ready to move forward with it. During that time of the construction of this project, we will continue working on the design of the two buildings. I think this will save us on the overall schedule of the project if we do it [indiscernible] like we do the infrastructure and the design. Once we finish the [indiscernible], we would like to bring the preliminaries to you next week once we secure all the signatures from all users of those buildings.
>> any particular questions raised by members of the court? Obviously the site work is the stuff that needs to get done before we can move on the rest of it. And you anticipate, roger, we'll be ready for the b item next week?
>> yes.
>> any questions? Commissioner Daugherty has volunteered to move and seconded by Commissioner Gomez on item 13 a to get the documents out on the street. I'm assuming you are coordinating with sid in purchasing to get all the stuff taken care of.
>> yes.
>> any further questions by members of the court. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you very much.
>> thank you.
