22. Approve 12-month extension (modification no. 2) to interlocal agreement no. Il010211ef, with Austin community college to provide early childhood mentoring services. 22, that was a question, stephen may know the answer or is it one for purchasing if.
>> no, I just wanted a little brief description as to -- as to really what we -- what we are doing there. I mean, i've read the staff recommendations and some of the follow-up. Can you take me through just, you know, briefly, stephen --
>> basically, with this contract it's for early childhood mentoring services. It's actually for support of individuals that the -- the teachers within the -- westbound the child care arena. It is a -- it is a quality of child care initiative that we started several years ago. The amount of this contract is less because -- because there were for the enough funds within my organization to fund it at the previous level. This is essentially a quality child care issue where we are trying to make sure that the standard of care and support that the teachers and workers are giving the children is relatively high.
>> I guess, stephen, taking the dprrt $35,000 down to 15 -- contract down from 35,000 to 15,000, do you still -- do you think we're -- I guess we're getting 15,000 worth of product versus $35,000 worth of product. Does that mean that we deal with the fewer teachers?
>> essentially, yes. We will -- we are supporting that effort last -- I just did not have general fund dollars available to do it this year. It was actually in my budget request, I think, last year. So what we are doing is just funded it to the level of owe owe [inaudible] support that we would have.
>> > okay.
>> move approval.
>> you had one on 32, right.
>> thank you, stephen.
>> this is where I guess we pay a.c.c. To provide this training to teachers and directors who actually work with --
>> yes.
>> okay. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. With Commissioners Davis temporarily off the dais. That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you.
