Also jeanette peyton on our child care council which has really been instrumental in terms of providing leadership and guidance for child care programming and early education and care in our community. With that I would like to turn it over to amanda.
>> good morning.
>> good morning.
>> thank you. As president of the Austin association for the education of young children, I would like to thank you sincerely for this proclamation and recognition of our children in Austin. Week of the young child is an annual celebration of early childhood and a tribute to all of those people in our community who teach and support young children. The lives of children in Austin and in Texas are our business and in realizing this, we are going to be doing some celebrating starting next week and one of them is to start off with a rally and today I will present you with a calendar, on that we will state all of the activities that we will be proposing the week of the young child. The first one being again -- again would be the rally, which will be on the south steps of the capitol next Tuesday at 10:00. And we have an agenda for that day in recognition of the children and also some entertainment to not only bring children, but also families to the south steps to recognize the children. Also on April the 9th, we will be having an awards reception to recognize our child care providers that work very hard for what, you know, the recognition they deserve. Not only in home situations, but also in the child care facilities and -- and it's a big week for us. And not only do we recognize the providers, the children, the full week itself, we would also like for you to take aside and remember that when thinking about the children, think about all that's involved. Not only that -- their lives that are important, but all the enrichment that they receive while -- while in care and all the work that's provided and the care from the providers and it's just a week that we take aside to really recognize all that they do. Thank you.
>> thank you.
>> thank you.
>> anybody else?
>> we do have pins for everybody for the week. We do have information.
>> we appreciate the work you do.
>> thank you. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you, good to see you again. In that case it really is good to see you again. Thank you all very much.
