6. Approve proclamation declaring March 2003 as "trail ride month" in Travis County. We have got ms. Mueller here with us. Should I read the proclamation? Whereas the trail rides recreate the old Texas cattle drives and wagon trains which settled our great lone star state; whereas participating in this event will be the 19th annual Austin founders trail road and with trail boss jay mueller, he's here with us today, whereas the 19th annual Austin founders trail ride, March 14th through March 23rd 2003 will follow a 107-mile route with covered wagons, horses and mules, from new braunfels to canyon lake, fisher, wimberly, drift wood, buda and into Austin to officially start the 66th Austin star of Texas fair and prca rodeo, professional rodeo --

At the Travis County exposition center; whereas the sanctioned trail ride will be featured at the March 22nd trail ride parade kicking off the rodeo performances March 22nd through April 5th, 2003 in Travis County. And whereas Travis County residents will wear the jingles, spurs, lots of bandannas, boots, chaps, cowboy hats in Texas, happy trails, head 'em up, move 'em out, wagons ho. Be it resolved that we proclaim March 2003 as trail ride month in Travis County and encourage you all to participate -- tonight courage participants on the trail wide throughout the united states and the world for the cultural heritage of Texas and I move approval.
>> head 'em out, move 'em out, wagons ho, trail ride time in Texas. Thank you for the honor of the proclamation. It's real exciting to have a declared trail ride month in Travis County. We are all excited. Riders coming from all over Texas, louisiana, oklahoma, new mexico, mississippi, florida again that do every year, kansas, missouri, all over the united states coming in with covered wagons and horses and mules that will be circling up in new braunfels Friday, March the 14th. Saturday March the 15th we head out down the river ride along the beautiful guadalupe river going to canyon lake. And then we will be heading to the stage top ranch in fisher. Then to wimberly rodeo grounds and riding through the storm ranch heading over to the historical camp ben mccullough. Staying at the carpenter hill ranch then into the Travis County sheriff's posse rodeo arena for our Friday night dance with pauline reese, Saturday 11:00 a.m. Trail ride par rate at the exposition center. Since there's no downtown as parade by the capitol, the trail riders are going to be featured at the 11:00 a.m. Parade out at the rodeo grounds. We hope that you will come see the trail riders. Rodeo starts that night. Saturday March 22nd. A big section will be featured by the rodeo announcers, hadly barrett and the tracy burke entertainer. Don moreno, terry clark, charlie bride, robert earl keene.
