Item 5
Number 5, introduction of mmissioners court.
>> morning judge, members of the court. It is with great pride that I come back before you again this week to introduce another lawyer who will be representing you and the other county officials in our office. Alicia lee. Alicia graduated from auburn university with a bachelor of arts and then from the alabama law school. She worked as -- she's a member of both the alabama and Texas bars, and after she moved from alabama and while she was waiting to take the Texas bar and pass the Texas bar exam, she worked as a paralegal for a number of firms here in town. Then after she passed the Texas bar exam, she applied in our office and at the time we didn't have any lawyer positions open and so we hired her as a paralegal. And that is something that is as exciting to me as anything I can imagine because alicia is someone who is so convinced she wanted to work in our office for Travis County that she was willing to work as a paralegal until the time when we had a lawyer position open that we could place her in, and that's what she did. We are proud to say now that we have promoted her to the position of attorney, which is in accordance with her skills, and she is working on the employment law team representing you and the other elected officials of Travis County in employment law matters. In fact, I was afraid that we were actually going to miss the introduction this morning because she was at a pre-deposition hearing this morning busy doing her work at the time that I was thinking we might introduce her to you, but we're very proud to introduce alicia to you and proud to have her and her dedicated spirit on our staff.
