Item 30

View captioned video.

30 is to discuss board and committee assignments for commissioners court members and take appropriate action. Last time there were some -- okay.
>> the only thing I'm seeing is in terms of we have a specific listing for the capital development corporation and quite frankly the cap dal industrial development corporation and the five other six others that the court has, that's the slate for all of the corporations and not just that one. That's really the only thing that I really saw. It's on page 2. [inaudible].
>> I'm sorry, what are you saying about that one?
>> it's the not -- we only have listed here that one corporation which has the slate of officers. The reality is that's also true for Travis County housing finance, it's also true for capital industrial. [multiple voices]
>> okay. We basically [inaudible] the committee.
>> just make it go away.
>> clean air force, I think I agreed to serve on that one also.
>> okay.
>> unless somebody else wants to.
>> so we'll have two there, judge?
>> yeah. I expect that to pick up steam.
>> it would be nice to have you there. That would be great.
>> this year.
>> are we still doing the north america super highway coalition? I thought we bailed on that.
>> I spoke with -- I'm sorry.
>> I had understood that you all had pulled out of that and have not funded it.
>> I thought so too.
>> and I did speak with joe on that, and he was poadz supposed to get back with me and he hasn't yet on what they are doing, what -- I don't really know if some of the transportation situation that is affecting us here and then looking at the overall not only for the regional approach but this ih-35 corridor situation, and probably the Texas transportation corridor imposed by the governor. I really don't know exactly where we are on that and would it be a need for us to revolve ourselves in that particular organizations, but I have not had a chance -- joe has not responded, joe geiselman has not responded to me yet to give me any update, but I did pose that same question. Thanks for bringing it up.
>> I think where we last left it was joe went off to a conference in kansas city and said other than getting a really great steak, it was something that didn't have much relevance to us and our efforts were better spent working through the san antonio growth corridor council because this was venturing off in another direction that really had more to do with trade and commerce and less to do with the highway.
>> but I -- I thought we had pulled all of our funding.
>> that was the same thing that I posed to joe and I wanted to know if there was anything else that had transpired since then that would cause us to get involved according to the interests of Travis County. But, of course, I haven't heard a response yet from him on that. So I really don't know. And I'm looking at the possibility of this proposed transtexas corridor that's being proposed by the governor which will not only impact Travis County, but probably ever county in the state that takes this north-south route into probable points up north. So I really don't have all the information. Of course, joe is supposed to get back with me and give me a report, but he has not at this date. So I don't really know what to do about that portion of it at this time.
>> judge, I would suggest we delete it because we haven't been active in that in at least three years.
>> before we delete it, I would like to maybe hear what joe's findings are.
>> if you want to hear them again because we --
>> I think when we failed to send our dues in, I think we effectively deleted ourselves.
>> yeah.
>> any other corrections?
>> no.
>> on the [inaudible] on the front page, I would take that off. Staff involvement. I was active on that about three years ago. And I think they are functioning well without me or without a court member. I know melinda malai is active on that. Anything else on this list?
>> nope.
>> judge, I would move approval of the list with the corrections you've listed and that is adding you to the clean air force, making it clear that the corporations, that those are the listings for all of the corporations, not simply capital industrial, that the capco solid waste finally be deleted from our list, and central booking be deleted from our list. And that not sending in dues on super highway basically says that that is a deleted position as well.
>> second.
>> I have no problem with that, commissioner. Just I hadn't heard anything from joe.
>> any more discussion of that motion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Now, I do think that we probably ought to try to do a better job of reporting back to the court on significant developments in these committees, boards, et cetera. We've kind of gotten in the habit of -- and myself included -- going and doing our thing and when the court finds out, the court finds out.
>> and [inaudible].
>> yeah.
>> that's not a biggie, but on some of this we may be required to take some action at some point. It would kind of help to be kept abreast on developments as they occur.
>> I totally agree.
>> so let's just try to do that.
>> uh-huh.
