Citizens Communication
First up is citizens communication, one citizen has signed in. This is to give citizens an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda for a full three minutes. Phillip adic.

>> good morning. And congratulations upon everyone's return to office.

>> and I'm hoping that you all had a merry christmas, you and your family, happy new year.
>> thank you, same to you.
>> I am the -- the president of -- of parents of concerned inmates being abused in Texas prisons, jails and youth facilities. And I have -- I have a very big problem today and I'm hoping that -- I'm reaching out to everyone and hoping that you can assist me with this. This is a -- a -- concerning police officers and me and my license. I was accused of a car wreck that I was not guilty of. And I have statements, I have everything in this report and these are pictures of my car from the statement that the -- that the police officer says that I backed out of my driveway unsafely. The young lady that called him, I found out later on, they knew one another and she came up the hill and totaled out my park avenue and gave me injuries and everything that I am still suffering from. This is pictures of my car where it was totaled out in the side and I did not back up and strike, you know, her car or anything, I just did not do that. This thing has gotten so out of hand they have took my driver's license from me. I'm just being punished for things that I haven't done. I would appreciate it if I could get some help on this, please. If you are guilty of things, you are guilty of them, but I am not guilty of this. And I did not back out of my driveway and strike her car. She did come around the caution from matador and turn on to my street, came up the hill at abiast rate of speed. She told me the sun blinded her when she turned the corner. And she did not -- she said all she could see was something shiny, there's statements in here. And -- and she didn't know what it was and she just kept coming and ran -- ran right into me. And just totaled out my car. But -- but her and the -- and the officer got together and they were talking and I tried to speak and he told me to get back. He didn't want to hear anything that I had to say. Told me to take it up with the judge or jury. So -- so I'm here today asking for some resolution from this and I want my chauffeur's license back. I mean, I was a truck driver for me and my family. And I have always worked hard and tried to be a good, decent citizen. I would appreciate some help on that. Then I would like some help on this -- on this so-called criminal history background. This isn't a true view of phillip adick here. The other thing that is on my record that I had to go to courted for were misdemeanor dismissed fines. And you recall of these other statements -- all of these other statements and things that they have put on here that are current like -- that burglary that they had in 1970 that I was not involved in, they told me about it, they investigated it, it has come out on the record here for 1974. I mean they have things on me that I haven't ever done, judge. I need to know why. I need to know what can be done to get all of these things resolved. They told me in 1970 my record was too clean, I didn't have no -- not even a stop sign or a red light. One officer came in looky, looky here, it was a manila folder. I was looking around and I didn't know what he was talking about. He says we got one with no -- nothing is on the record, nothing is on the record, the record is smooth and clean as a newborn baby's spanking -- you know. I said, well, what does that mean? So then he went on to talk, they said for me not to pay him any attention. That took place in 1970. They told me that they knew that I was not involved in that -- in that burglary. They had already had investigators watching me and observing me. They told me all I did was went to work at anderson high school, come in, seen about my children, go to church on Sundays, me and my kids, I was working at brown's nursing home in the evening times, they had already investigated me. I'm wondering how can this come out in 1974, to make me look like I did all of these things that they have put on the record for me. I would like it investigated --

>> actually, that's not real easy. But if you will go to my office and get them to make a copy of that, give you back what's there.

>> I would be happy to look at it and let you know what I think.

>> I don't know that you would like my thoughts.
>> yes, sir.
>> but what I think can be done to -- to attempt to resolve these. And I would be happy to let you know what I think.
>> yes, sir.
>> I sure appreciate that.
>> if you would just go to my office now and have my staff make a copy of what you have.
>> yes, sir.
>> I wouldn't leave -- are those your originals?
>> some of them are -- well, I took the originals out and I made you some copies already.
>> okay. Just if they have copies fine. But my staff -- we would be happy to do it.

>> anybody else for citizens communication? This is a copy of the letter that I sent to kenneth snyder on December 4th, last year, about a month ago. Mr. Snyder chatted with dan smith in my office about 30 minutes after he received that a couple of days later. The consent items are next, I will give you that for your information.
