32. Discuss and take appropriate action regarding requests for furniture, fixtures and equipment for precinct four office building and approval of overall project budget.
>> alicia perez, executive manager of office operations, you have before you an item that we had discussed with the court before and this is having to do with the precinct 4 office building and as you know that will house cscd, the constable's office and the j.p. We are requesting an increase in the ff and e budget. The overall budget for the project has come in approximately 1.4 belo the original budget. As parts of that I would like to adjust the ff and e for 136,250. Last time we came before the court. The court requested that we do a couple of things. One to go back and do a complete inventory of all of the furniture that was available in the warehouse and use as much of it as we could for that office need. We have done that. You also asked us to work with cscd and make sure that any furniture that they had that was appropriate for reuse that we were -- that we would reuse, we have also done that. Getting that information we would still request $166,250 for additional furniture, fixtures and equipment. Overall, we are very happy to say that this project will come in at about 1.4 under budget. The bids were very good to us. Our staff did a very, very good job also with -- with purchasing and putting the bid specs together and working with court members with our construction community to bring in the bids as they are now.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> I agree.
>> slight technical question. The I fully agree with everything we are trying to do, it's just a slight technicality. Are we using 20 year co's to do this or is this left over from last year which I can't remember if we did the precinct 4 stuff as 20 year or five year co's the only reason that I'm asking is is that we normally tie the life span of the item to the co amount. It's certainly an adjustment we can make if we are using the '03 stuff. You just slide over 167 into the five-year column and take it off the 20-year column.
>> give us about two minutes, we can get that information for you.
>> can we take it as a friendly, judge. Whatever we are doing, we are taking it out of the appropriate length of co savings.
>> that's fine with me.
>> because furniture is not 20 year life span. It just isn't.
>> [inaudible] need to let everybody know, right, I guess the auditor.
>> > the appropriate conversation is had with the county attorney and with p.b.o. Represented to whether that's a five year or a 20 year item in -- and the appropriate adjustments are made related to the '03 issuance.
>> can you good it that [inaudible]
>> yes.
>> okay.
>> there's jessika.
>> there's jessika. She can --
>> jessika, can you answer that question for me, please.
>> I believe the question, I was in the elevator, but I believe the question was it 20 or five year co's.
>> as to where this is coming from.
>> there's $6.3 million for the precinct 4 office building, which I believe this is where the budget is, that's five year co's. There is an additional $677,000 proposed for 20 year co, upcoming co package, but that has not been finalized yet.
>> just make sure it's tapped from the five year co. My issue is settled. Thank.
>> thanks, jessika. Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
