This morning we covered all of our business except the executive session items. We have been asked to postpone number 32 until next week. 33 receive briefing from county attorney and give direction and/or take appropriate action regarding former tnr employee, james young. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. 34 receive briefing from county attorney and/or take appropriate action regarding settlement offer in michele weston v. Margo frasier, et al. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. Also. 35. Receive briefing on applicants for executive manager of justice and public safety position, and take appropriate action. Personnel matters exception. And a 1 to discuss certain personnel issues regarding star flight staff, receive legal advice and take appropriation. That's the personnel matters exception and consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. We will discuss these items in executive session and return to open court before taking any action.
>> we have just returned from executive session. Number 8, I don't think there is any decision to be made today. Item 32, we postponed, did not announce. 33, move that we authorize the county attorney to settle this matter with mr. Young for the amount of 8,$565 to be paid to Travis County. After which we will execute appropriate settlement agreements and release. A release.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? That will get it done for us. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number 34 involving michelle weston and margo frazier, move we reject the offer to settle and counter for the amount of $5,000. Indicate that we have been advised that appropriate disciplinary action has been taken against the officer in question. And indicate our willingness to execute an appropriate letter of apology to the complaining party.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? I understand that the county attorney will have a short discussion with the county sheriff on this matter before that counter-offer is conveyed. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number 35 involving our search for an executive manager of justice and public safety, move that we authorize the reposting of this position for 30 days to begin on the day of posting. And ask appropriate county managers to assist the search committee with efforts to notify additional persons that the job has been reposted, or position reposted, and if they are interested to get them to file their applications. Several had contacted them us after the deadline had expired. This gives them opportunity to file. Ask our committee to contact those who have applied indicating basically that commissioners court expected to see more than the small number of applicants that made the final, final list. And hopefully we will have a chance to chat with two or more of those after the appropriate time in the future.
>> second.
>> any more discussion of that? We do hope that a couple members of the commissioners court at some point will get a little more actively involved than we've been. So we can make that decision after November 5th. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. There being no further business today.
>> move adjourn.
>> all in favor? That carries unanimously. Thank you all very much.
