We have a number of guests with us today who are going to make their way to the fiek phone, and diane cal len, the regional director will make the introductions when we get there. But I will start reading the proclamation. As we enter the 21st century, Texas must continue to encourage business and industry to recognize the rich and potential of older workers and to make the most of their knowledge, skills and experience. Seniors bring to the workplace sound judgment, a broad knowledge base, and a strong work ethic. Seniors want to remain as active partners in our state's economic and social development. >> second.
>> good morning. Thank you so much for having us in your court today, and we do appreciate the proclamation. I have the seniors who are currently working through the one-stop workforce centers in the center. Fred cruise, vivian jones, leola price and gwen mcfarland.
>> and your name is.
>> diane mcallen. Our offices are in waco. We've had an opportunity of working in Travis County for many, many years. First through our community service employment program where seniors helped develop and build bike paths and jogging paths in the audubon and other community-based organizations. I just returned from washington, d.c. Yesterday -- or Sunday, where we celebrated the outstanding older worker from each of our states, and the oldest worker in america, who is dr. Crist, a full-time professor at messiah university and is 102 years old. He was part of the manhattan project of many decades ago and now is doing bioremediation of our soil and water. So I think that speaks to the contributions that senior workers are making to our nation, to our state and our local communities. And we applaud the commissioners for recognizing that and helping us to encourage employers in both business and industry to consider hiring a senior. Thank you so very much.
>> thank you.
>> thank you.

>> thank you.
>> thank you.
>> thank you for your energy.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
