number 3 is approve resolution recognizing the month of March 2011 as professional social work month in Travis County. >> good morning, judge, Commissioners. >> good morning. >> I'm with health and human services and veterans service with my colleague. >> jim also with health and human services. >> sherri fleming with health and human services. >> should I read the proclamation? it reads: whereas social workers are positive agents of change dedicated to helping people transform their lives and improve their environments. whereas more than 640,000 trained social work professionals in the united states work tirelessly in agencies, hospitals, hospices, schools, universities, legislatures, private practices, corporations, and the military and on special occasion in the Travis County Commissioners court room. whereas social workers advocate for access, equality and fairness. whereas a social work profession was established more than 100 years ago to help people overcome poverty, illness, and other diversities as well as work to change the systems that limit the ability of individuals in groups to lead fulfilling, productive lives. whereas schools of social work trained socially conscious people to make a real difference this the world through service and leadership, strengthening communities, expanding options and facilitating humane changes in policies and legislation that improve the lives of everyone, and whereas every day social workers wake up believing they will give an n individual, a family or a community new hope in the future helping people help themselves particularly in Travis County, particularly in Travis County, by providing services through the courts, corrections, juvenile and adult probation, health and human services and veterans service, child protective services, research and planning, and many other settings, public and private. now therefore be it resolved that by the Travis County Commissioners court that all citizens of Travis County are urged to join the capital area chapter of the national association of social workers in celebration, support and recognition of the social work profession by observing 2011 as professional social work month. in Travis County, for the commitment and dedication that our professional social workers provide to our community, and I move approval. >> second. >> good morning again. >> good morning and thank you so much for reading the proclamation. many of our colleagues throughout Travis County that are social workers, which are in many departments, aren't able to be here presently with us because they are at their jobs working so we're representing them. thank a social worker this month for all their hard work and dedication. speaking of the national branch -- I mean the local branch, one of our very own caseworkers, david policheck is getting recognized as the public citizen of the year for the local Austin-Travis County branch chapter. >> thank u we appreciate you all and all that you do for us. keep up the good work. >> thank you. >> all in favor? that passes by unanimous vote. now, we have received notice from the county attorney's office that it's okay to postpone item 39 and postpone 27 until next week. we did give out some time certains so let's try to call them.
