18. Consider and take appropriate action regarding the organizational planning team's recommendation for the person to fill the director position for the human resources management department and issues related thereto.
>> good morning, roger jeffreys, executive manager of justice and public safety, also the liaison to the human resources management department from the organizational planning team. I'm here with our interim hrmd director, tracy callaway. We are very pleased to come to you today and announce the finalist that's we selected, the organizational selection planning team for the hrmd director. Back in april we came to you and outlined the process that we followed and came to some finalists, you all asked us to make a selection and bring it back to you for approval. We are very excited about it. I think there are members of the organizational planning team behind us. We are recommending ms. Diane blankenship. Currently director for the archdiocese in galveston. She's worked in the non-profit world, private sector and public sector. We think that he's terrific and would like to make a recommendation for you for us to hire her. In your backup you have the salary that we are recommending. In addition we are asking that she be aloud up to $3,000 for -- allowed up to $3,000 for relocation costs. We provided you i think yesterday with her estimate. We would reimburse up to $3,000 for that. Anything that i'm leaving out.
>> she said that she would pick up the difference between the 3,000 and the total.
>> yes.
>> tracy, you will stay on for an overlapping period, yes?
>> yes. We are with -- with approval we are anticipating her to start on the 26th -- monday the 26th. Monday the 26th. At that time, i spent three weeks with helping her transition into the role.
>> wonderful. Thank you so much for doing that.
>> yes. As happy we are to get ms. Blankenship, we are also equally sad to see tracy go. She's been a terrific partner the last several months and a terrific facilitator for this whole process in selecting the hrmd director. We're glad she's going to stay on a few weeks.
>> 26th of what month.
>> of july.
>> i move approval.
>> second.
>> july 26th?
>> yes, sir.
>> mayor leffingwell: discussion? That's approval of the $3,000 relocation expenses too.
>> right.
