>> burning up calories --
>> [laughter] -- I'm pleased today to have with me some lady who set up and argued and managed the two programs that we are here to discuss and recognize the participants in.
to my right or to my left is dr.
lynn stewart, to her left is suzetta garnett, wellness specialist, josie standing behind her.
i'm going to turn it over to them.
>> good morning, Commissioners, I would like to take the opportunity to recognize the employees for the challenges, these are most of the guys that completed the challenge and we would just like to give them a round of applause for their efforts in choosing to live a healthier life.
>> [ applause ] is joe gieselman standing for one for of his employees or is he really a participant?
>> [laughter]
>> would you guys like to hear the winners first?
>> absolutely.
>> okay.
all right.
>> the overall winner for total weight loss was roger el khoury.
>> [ applause ] our winner for largest bmi or body mass index decrease is suzy ruiz.
>> [ applause ] and our winner for waste circumference decrease was travis gatlin.
we had multiple measures of how people could succeed, that's why we have three different categories here.
while one person may lose inches, somebody else may lose a lot of weight from their overall body, we wanted to be able to recognize -- here's roger el khoury.
>> congratulations.
>> [ applause ] we wanted to get -- give as many opportunities to recognize success as there are ways to lose weight, to congratulations to all of the losers.
>> [laughter]
>> very good.
>> we also want to -- to present each of you with travis 1,000 t-shirts so we can encourage you to join us on our next challenge.
>> [ applause ]
>> could we do this on a Tuesday?
>> [laughter] the shorter meeting.
>> small for me
>> [laughter]
>> of course.
thanks.
>> thank you.
>> my favorite color, too.
>> I tell you I kept seeing all of the pedometers on people's shoes, I thought it was some sort of a probation device.
>> [laughter]
>> all right.
we also have some individual winners.
diane sager, took the total number of steps.
it was the highest.
1,890,680 steps.
12 week time frame.
second place was christina jensen, part of the group
>> [indiscernible] taking 1,606,303 steps.
of course the meters don't catch every step, so we know they actually stepped more than what we have counted.
then the third place was phillip arnell, 1,788,242 steps.
the top three team, the first tough and ruthless, t.n.r.
>> [ applause ]
>> second place was ipeds, its.
and the captain was diane sager with team members ...
>> [reading names] the third place was pbo trippers with captain travis gatlin.
>>
>> [indiscernible]
>> > overall we had a lot of people sign up.
ultimately not as many people as finished as signed up.
the total number who signed up was 62, 14 never started.
17 dominican republicked out.
we have an incomplete data, either they missed an appointment or did not consent to a blood draw or measurements, that was 14.
the total number who completed it as arranged was 17.
so we can certainly do better next time, especially if you Commissioners come join us.
>> I will urge our Commissioners to participate.
>> on Tuesday.
>> in the afternoon would be great.
>> that is a great program.
>> that is it.
>> keep up the good work.
