>> 4 b, consider and take appropriate action on the following we put the routine amendments a on the consent motion. But b is request from constable precinct 1 for an exception to Travis County code chapter 10.0295 d 4, peace officer pay scale. We do have constable thomas here with us.
>> good morning, linda Moore smith, human resources department. The item is posted as a request for an exception to Travis County peace officer policy, 10.0295, section d 4. The request that constable thomas has made is for his chief deputy constable to be brought in or advanced from a step 5 on the pop scale to a step 10. We have reviewed the request that -- that the constable has submitted, the justification for placement at step 10 rests in the 30 years of experience that the -- that the new hire has in law enforcement in addition to 15 of those 30 years being in the supervisory capacity. In addition to that, he offered and briefed to Travis County a master's level peace officer tcleose certification which exceeds the -- the level that's required even of a step 5. So -- so what h.r. Has done is reviewed the information that was submitted. We verified that the license and the information that was submitted as justification is indeed proper and recommend and separate the request of constable thomas.
>> so are those 30 years all at Austin police department.
>> yes, sir.
>> okay.

>> no. I move approval of you, judge. Also -- also I guess item 25 would be the -- would be the transfer portion of this. But I -- I move approvalful that, really comes in line with some of the chief deputies constable offices, so I move approval.
>> okay. Seconded by Commissioner huber. The -- the -- in terms of funding we need to transfer a little bit from permanent savings, but otherwise the department can --

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. And to make sure that you can do that, constable, we hurriedly pick up the budget amendments and transfer items which is number 25.
