Number 14 is to consider and take appropriate action on appointment of Travis County small cities representative to the capital area metropolitan planning organization board.

>> judge, as was the pleasure of the court, Commissioner Gomez and I got together with joe gieselman. And carol, the four of us discussed where we needd to move with this. Joe, are you ready for a motion? I think we have done all our due diligence. Our recommendation is that we appoint jeff mills as the small city appointment from the Commissioners court. I think that mr. Laws is the person that we were going, from creedmore.

>> mustang.

>> Mustang Ridge, where he would be the alternate person.

>> yes.

>> and I think that, you know, we've got, you know, jeff here. I don't know that he needs to say anything. His resume is stellar. I think he will be a great representative for us. We need to determine, you know, whether this is going to be a year and a half or whether it's going to be a two-year or whatever. You know, jeff has exemplified not only his interest just showing up in court the last couple weeks. Wanted to be sure he didn't sit here until four o'clock today like he did last week. Commissioner Gomez, unless joe, Commissioner Gomez has said something to you, and I think she was in lock step with this--

>> Commissioner Gomez is in favor of this particular recommendation of this motion ?

>> yes.

>> I have a question about us choosing the alternate. There was some discussion last week about whether it would be more appropriate for our appointee to decide who among the other small cities representatives would act as his or her alternate rather than us deciding.

>> sure, joe.

>> could you elucidate on that ?

>> the sense of the can sub was that there was some sensitivity towards east and well balance in representation, and rather than leave that open, that the court would actually be proactive and appoint the auxiliary so that in the event that the western representative could not be available, then it automatically fell to an east Travis County representative. That was really an effort to make sure that there was some diversity in our small city representatives and it wouldn't always fall on one side of the county or the other.

>> what we are saying is that jerry mills.

>> jeffrey.

>> sorry, jeffrey mills from sunset vail vail--valley and charlie laws from must tang ridge is the alternate. That is what we are saying.

>> that is what we are saying.

>> second the motion by Commissioner dougherty.

>> okay.

>> anymore discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you very much for your patience.

>> thank you, jeff. Twice. Get ready.

>> here I come.

>> fundamentally get ready.

>> like the temptations.

>> it will be good. Don't listen to Gerald.
