Item 15

The 15 a, one that we had the public hearing on, approve modification, those contracts, authorize county purchasing agent to sign, was -- we will have those action items next week. C is offer c. Offer area funeral homes an opportunity to join the indigent burial services program. I think when we adopt the policy, we ought to accepted a copy of the letter to the funeral homes who are not partners to at least give them that opportunity. I’m not anticipating a lot of -- of -- of additional ones taking -- taking advantage of the opportunity. But I think in fairness we ought to at least let them know that we are considering adding to the list. One funeral home showed up last week. So can we do that? Can we send it to the others. I think if we maybe okay to go ahead and send it out immediately for the policy. And understand that we plan to take final action on the policy next week. But if they are interested to let us know, do we use like a form contract?

>> I think we can do so in conjunction with purchasing. I’m not sure exactly how they would effect that notice. But they did let us know that these contracts are considered exempt. Which means that we weren't obligated to do a formal competition. That we could just give notice that those persons that are interested, if they are willing to sign our contract, could participate in the program.

>> but we are going to develop a new contract, the one that we have got is really old. And so I -- I would like to -- I would like to hold off doing a bunch of new ones until we have the new contract form in place. We will get that ready in the next couple of weeks. So I think that we can go ahead and contact people and get their interest registered and -- but hold off on contracts until we have the new form and I’ll put that at the top of the list.

>> it can't be more than 10 or 12 more, right? I think --

>> I would think so, judge. And all may not be interested in participating.

>> okay.

>> is that in the form of a motion?

>> yes, sir, sure is.

>> second that then.

>> discussion? Try to get that done immediately, I guess on the contract --

>> [inaudible - no mic]

>> the court can authorize it to sign those as they come in.

>> okay. And that -- -- that covers just the c part of this item, we will cover the other parts next week. Any discussion of that motion for 15 c? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you very much.
