Citizens communication is next and two citizens have signed in, charles williams. And sharon williams. Unrelated, I believe. Actually, sharon williams signed in first. Is sharon williams here? Okay. Then charles williams, a distant 7th cousin, probably.
>> you never, never know. Good morning, judge Biscoe and Commissioners. What I would like to talk about today is the 19th annual Lake Travis cleanup that happened two weeks ago. I was a fantastic success. We've got more and more homeowner groups coming out to these cleanups and that is what is really making this is a success. We had over 200 people at this cleanup. I'm going to also introduce brian blanc our new director of keep Austin beautiful who will talk more about the cleanup, we also handed out the t-shirts at the cleanup.
>> good morning, judge Biscoe and Commissioner, my name is brian blanc. Our mission is to motivate the citizens of the greater Austin area to take personal responsibility for enhancing their community environment. Every year we team up to clean the Travis County parks surrounding Lake Travis. As charles mentioned, we recruit hundreds of volunteers each year to help clean the parks. After the cleanup we provide the volunteers with lunch and t-shirts and we just passed out a t-shirt for each of you. Let me encourage them to come back and use their county parks. I wanted to tell you just a little bit about the great success of this event this year. Volunteers contributed over 600 hours of service at a value of more than $10,800 invested into the Lake Travis parks and removed more than two tons of trash from the parks. And we appreciate your support, we look forward to continuing this event every year and making it even more successful as we go forward. That's the overview of the event and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
>> well, how long...
>> this is a partnership with lcra, keep Austin beautiful and Travis County. We have about four or five of these events every year and they continue to grow in success. And keep Austin beautiful is really plugging this in with all of the stuff too.
>> you've been executive director how long?
>> i've just taken over its executive director, it's been about 6 weeks on the job.
>> good luck to you. Looking forward to working with you.
>> thank you very much.
>> more than 200 volunteers this year?
>> yes, sir.
>> that is outstanding.
>> thank you very much.
>> thank you.
