19. Set elected officials salaries for fy 04.
>> since we did not have that do we need to move approval for all other personnel --

>> pulling out the two non-routine, motion to approve the rest of them, seconded by Commissioner Gomez, all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Now, number 19.
>> [indiscernible] the -- set elected officials salaries with the indication that that would be set on Tuesday, November 9th. You are being asked to [indiscernible] salaries in accordance with what what was in the [indiscernible] [papers shuffling - audio interference] the advertisement has elected officials receiving no increase from what their compensation was in -- in '03 with the exception of the -- of the district judges and the county court at law judges and the probate judge which in accordance with your discussion of a few weeks ago would be a [indiscernible] thousand dollar increase.
>> help me understand. There are amounts here for non-judicial officials like constable sheriff, district clerk, county clerk, jp, tax assessor, county attorney. What do those amounts represent, next to the last column?
>> yes. Those represent the -- the increase above and beyond the budgeted salary for the first six months of '03 because if you remember elected officials received an increase as of April 1, of '03. So what our statutes require us to do is to declare what the level of compensation was in the year before. The level of compensation was at one level for the first six months and then an increase for the second six months.
>> two percent.
>> exactly.
>> two percent. But for '04, only the judicial salary increases and that came from the judicial support fund that we have been collecting but had been tied up in litigation until recently.
>> correct.
>> okay. Move take we adopt the fees that are -- have been advertised and are set forth in the backup.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> does it say here this is what the effective date is, judge?
>> effective October 1 at the fiscal year. Let's clarify that is the --
>> and that there is that asterisk related to the judicial salaries that it depends on a favorable opinion from the attorney general and the auditor is withholding the payment out of those dollars until that opinion comes through.
