Agenda Item Fourteen
Let's call up 14 a, also, though authorize receipt of $5,500 contribution for signage from various contributors, our county attorney needs to get out of town, so we will take this item up since you are here [ laughter ]>> sounds ominous. [ laughter ]
>> need to get out of town? [ laughter ]
>> good morning, alicia perez, executive manager for administrative operations. You have before you a couple of choices on page 2, right behind the agenda item. Of signs, you also have a plaque that would be an exterior sign to the building, the smaller, but would act more like an historical marker to tell people who -- who ned granger was. And then on the third page, on the same attachment, you have a rendering of what that would look like. It would indeed cover the sign that says stokes building, it would be done in brushed aluminum, I believe, and it could read: Travis County, ned granger administrative building. If that is how you chose to -- if those are the words that you would like to the -- to the sign. That's what you asked to bring back to you, to bring you a couple of choices, I will turn it over to the county attorney.
>> well, briefly, I think what you have in your packet, option a and option b, [inaudible], either one. I think there was a slight favorite would be option b, just because --
>> we need the first name.
>> because of the first name and [inaudible - no mic]
>> everybody pleased that you all [inaudible] [inaudible - no mic] one change from what you have in your draft packet and that is to take the quotation marks off of the middle name since it was actually his -- his actual name. And I don't think that you all had in your backup material, but I wanted come felon thirm what chuck hill handed me, it was a $5,500 check, -- based in the general fund last week by the proposer, basically the family and estate plaintiff granger and many friends that wanted to make a contribution. I just ask to put that in the packet, we didn't have anything else unless you all have questions.
>> the family is okay with option b?
>> yes, sir.
>> okay.
>> I will move we so name the building and that -- that approve option b and we accept the contribution into the general fund and authorize the signage to go up on the building.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? We think $5,500 will cover the cost?
>> yes, sir.
>> okay. Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. And chuck, I think it's in sean malone's top drawer. He's right there. It will be deposited in the county treasury. Right?
>> thank you.
>> thank you.
>> we will inform the court of formal ceremony.
>> okay.
>> we do look forward to that.
>> thank you all very much.
>> thank you.
>> alicia while we have you here, before he with get the formal ceremony, our flags out front have gone through one too many ozone action days. If we make sure we have fresh flags I think through one too many ozone action days.
